At this stage, we need more than a hand.

What to say? I honestly don’t know.
I found the passion had been sucked out of me during that second half. It was as if I had suddenly been possessed by the spirit of Salomon Kalou. Or Michael Essien. Or any number of passengers in blue today. It’s a sickening admission, I know, but a fact nonetheless.
Branislav temporarily managed to hoist me from my spiral with his commitment – along with England’s Brave John Terry, Petr Cech and Ramires. Nevertheless, there was little of that to go around. The real sad part? The fact that it took us falling behind by three goals to free up and start showing some grit. What the fuck?
More later. I’m sick of talking about this right now.
I’ll leave you with one observation, as served up by TheChels.org on Twitter:

Tweet « Rant Box: Arsenal v. Chelsea | Home | Arrrrrrwe need new striker and Offensive Midfielder.arn00bAncelotti has to take the blame for this. Kalou is crap. Mikel wasn't that bad, but I don't see him playing for any big club... Ramires showed his true colors yet again when he went for glory and tried to chip the keeper from a difficult position instead of doing the best thing for the team and pass it to Drogba and Kalou who were waiting in the box.
Ferreira? I don't need to say anymore.
SAF was right. They didn't replace Ballack, the midfield was weak and they spent the whole game trying to lob the defense and hope that Drogba would get to it. I saw the lineup and I knew Chelsea were done for. I can't believe that there were hopes on Lampard to save Chelsea. He's a good player, no doubt, but he's not that good, let's not kid ourselves.
Ancelotti said "John Mikel Obi is not able to score but is fantastic defensively. Ramires, the same." So who exactly is expected to score? He wants to buy another defender, so that Chelsea become a team entirely composed of defenders, defending midfielders and strikers that drop deep, but no attacking midfielder. Oh wait there's Lampard. He'll carry the team on his back.
SAF is laughing in his whiskey. Chelsea lost the plot.Sean Finnegan First, let me say that I am officially in a panic. You're right about some of the players and wrong about others (in my opinion). The midfield needs to be more dynamic as a whole. I think Mikel is a good defensive midfielder, but since he can't really be relied on to do anything but break up the opposition's attacks, he must be surrounded with other midfield players with different qualities. Lampard has great vision, distribution, and passing. Not to mention a knack for getting forward into goal scoring positions, and sticking them in the back of the net. He's everything you want in a modern midfielder. Lampard, Mikel, and Essien are a great combination because Essien provides that dynamic, physical flare that Mikel and Lampard attack. He can run with the ball at his feet, knock defenders off the ball and shield it for himself, and create opportunities on his own. Drogba is proven to be deadly with players like that behind him - but without them, or with too defensive a midfield, he's lonely up there. Drogba needs the ball to get goals.CharlieKalou doesn't deserve to wear this shirt. Something about him (Drogba's closest pal, maybe?) makes Carlo pick him time and time again. And time and time again he shows he hasn't grown as a footballer at all. Nothing against youth, but both him and Sturridge aren't ready. Agree with ph0bolus, we need more than just a defender. Might need a new striker or two. And a shrink.ph0bolusIt seems like Ancelotti is back to his shitty starting XI's, substitutions, and half-time team talks again...Why the fuck does he insist on starting Kalou over Sturridge? The guy is like a steaming pile of shit in neon colored shoes. There was absolutely no movement off the ball what so ever. Blown away like a newly promoted side..
A handful of goals in the last month and Ancelotti wants to buy a defender?blog comments powered by Disqus
