A merry Christmas to football fans everywhere

Even Santa is a football fan

A very merry Christmas to all our readers.

At this festive time it is worth making the effort to thank all the people who visit the site and comment on the articles. It is really appreciated by all at Soccernews and we all enjoy reading your insights, reactions, views and yes, even your personal insults about our opinions!

Great

The great thing about football is that despite the fact that we all believe we would be great managers, all believe we know what players do right and wrong, all believe we know how the game should be played, all believe our opinions about players, managers, refereeing decisions, goals, saves and games are absolutely right, we are all drawn together in an unfettered love of the game.

We can disagree about absolutely everything and yet we are united within the football family. I may have completely different opinions about the game than you and we might even be able to have heated debates and argue about tiny details, but if you love the game, I have a lot more in common with you than I don’t.

Presents

This is the one day of the year when football takes a back seat. Well, I say that, but I imagine I will receive presents that are football related and I will no doubt discuss the progress of my beloved Watford FC with my family members who I don’t get to see very often.

Anyway, enough of this. I have a mince pie to eat, presents to give and open and a nice bottle of red to drink. I’d better get to it!

I really do wish football fans everywhere a very happy, healthy and safe Christmas.
