KNVB Beker: Ajax Amsterdam 4 NAC Breda 1

Ajax overcame a slow start to thrash NAC Breda 4-1 to advance to the KNVB Beker semi-finals on Thursday.

Fouad Idabdelhay gave the visitors the ideal start to their Dutch Cup fixture at Amsterdam ArenA, the 22-year-old forward firing them ahead in the eighth minute.

But Ajax quickly responded, equalising nine minutes later when Switzerland-born Dutchman Siem de Jong netted.

Serb Miralem Sulejmani then scored from the penalty spot to hand the hosts a lead they would not relinquish before grabbing his second in the 83rd minute, just moments after Vurnon Anita’s goal.
