We’re not dead. Far from it.

A hero is born.
I really don’t know what to say. Everything about what just occurred has left me breathless.
It was vintage Chelsea. The Chelsea of old.
Resilience. Fight. Composure. A collective voice. All those things that this team had previously been criticized of lacking – by this blog and many others – were in plain view for all to see. It was, yes, glorious.
So, reports of the demise of Chelsea appear short of the mark. More in the match recap later tonight. Until then, get out and savior the result. And while you’re here, have a vote in the man of the match poll. I’m thinking Bob may have some significant pull in this edition.

Tweet « Rant Box: Chelsea v. Manchester United | Home | Sethfucking hell. I was at school getting tweet updates from TheChelsOrg. Ran up and down the halls yelling Luiz's name. Considering I live in the states and nobody knows who the fuck that is, i got a number of strange looks. Well worth it.
Words literally can't do it for me right now, 6 hours after the match ended.KeithDid anyone think Essien and Malouda were bad? Malouda didn't play wide enough and seemed like he was playing a central role. He was inside O'Shea WAY too much and kept having the ball stolen from Man U's Scholes and Carrick.
And Essien constantly turned the ball over. He seemed either injured, tired or out of it. Not sure which. I'm just glad that in the 2nd half Lampard quit passing to Essien and decided to run with the ball himself. When Zhirkov got the PK I thought Lampard was going to let Essien start the counter and after yelling "NO" I was relieved to see Lampard think better of it.arn00bThey both gave the vibe that they weren't in their natural position, but they did well nonetheless.
Malouda looked like he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Sometimes he had the ball and he wanted to go along the flank and cross, only for him to change him mind, try to dribble, then change his mind again, turn and pass it somewhere else.
Essien did well. He tried to shoot from just outside the box, but I think that he needs to focus on sending the ball to the strikers... not giving it to them, with their backs to the goal while they're near the corner flag... just laying it out for them.
But overall, the enthusiasm was unbelievable. The team went out to kick the smugness off the Mancs' faces and they did... If Chelsea had just shown this enthusiasm before....
I was worried about the aggression... Had Mikel started this game, it'd be him to get the red card first...JackI actually disagree on both counts. I thought Malouda was much more involved today than he had been at any point in the past month. The problem was his decision making in and around the box. Essien, meanwhile, showed some of the industry that's been missing from his game for some time. There were a couple of times he just shunned Scholes and Fletcher during advancing runs. His distribution is still poor, yes, but I was glad to see him showing that vintage drive.DennyI'll give it up for Zhirkov as well, the guy was stellar. Seriously, I don't care how Anelka or Drogba are playing right now, give more time to Luiz, Zhirkov, and Ramires, they were fantastic today.Mateoit was sooo cool when Luiz scored and went directly to celebrate with Tito, while he was still warming up with his jacket on!donSo what happened to all you haters that didnt want Luiz in this club and were complaining of paying too much etc etc, I want you guys to apologise in this blog, I also mean you moderators as well, dont make me bring up the past articles in jan.donoh alright then you pulled my legs, quotes from a certain Mr Jack
"work permit has been secured and Benfica have publicly admitted that negotiations are taking place. A deal for the defender David Luiz appears imminent.
Should we be pleased? I’m learning toward no.

Value buy?
Sigh. The latest in a series of transfer sagas involving Chelsea Football Club. How long has this one dragged on? A quick check around the net sees rumors linking the club with a move for the 23-year-old central defender as early as the end of June 2010. Yay.
What we have to ask ourselves is: 1. Is Luiz worth £25m?
As for No. 1: Is Luiz worth a fee that could be in excess of £25 million? In a word, no. If concluded, Luiz’s deal would rank second all-time on the list of most expensive central defender transfers behind Rio Ferdinand’s move to Manchester United. (£29m). "arn00bI doubt anyone was against Luiz as a player, it's just that Chelsea paid the Chelsea tax for him.
Let's take Drogba for example. Chelsea legend, no doubt. Let's say that we can have the next Drogba, someone who will guarantee 20+ goals per season, lots of shirt sales, his heart is in it, guaranteed... Should the club pay 70 million for him? People would be divided.
Chelsea is in a battle to go to CL, but the battle is on and off the pitch and it won't matter if Chelsea wins the league if it says -70,000,000 in red in the books.JackI was going to bring that up in the match recap anyway, so thanks for coming off as a pompous ass more than anything. I don't particularly remember you defending him in that post anyway so.
What's also interesting is that you conveniently cut and paste what you want from the article. I can do that, too: "So, to summarize, it’s not that I don’t like the idea of Luiz in Chelsea blue. It’s the price and the club’s inability to recognize when to say when that vexes me."Mateohe's worth all of Roman's fortunereddevilyou forgot martin atkinsonrdefryour missing martin atkinson in your poll. joke.chelsea21you whine like fergie, where was this anger towards officials last week at wigan when Rooney tried to knock someone's head off with an elbow? Rooney should've been serving game 1 of a 3 match ban.arn00bI know, but if we add him, then we'd have to add Sir Elbow and Mister Shirtpull too... it becomes too much.PacoThanks a lot, it was about time that ManUtd gets off their high horse!
They are seriosuly not playing such a good or convincing football as their point advantage over the other teams suggested.
The league is still pretty much a 2-horse-race, but at least ManU doesn't look superior anymore!KING KENNYTORRES MOTM AGAIN SCORED A COUPLE OF GOALS (NOT) !!! LUIZ IS CLASS TORRES IS A LOAD OF MT ASSKeithSorry forgot you might not even make it to Europa next year. I'm now rooting for Bolton, Leyton, Stoke, West Ham, Aston Villa and Reading. If one of them wins you'll not make it into Europe.
You coulda used Torres when relegation bound West Ham kicked your ass.KeithGo home cry baby. Have fun in Europa next year. Every rakes on Arsenal for not having won anything since 2005 but Liverpool is right behind them not winning anything since 2006. Have fun sitting outside the Top 5 for the next 5 years.JoshI was watching a choppy stream, but if I saw it correctly, Luiz did all of this AFTER taking a hard shot to the jewels. Correct?Homey_MillsI've never been a bigger Chelsea fan than I was today. Thanks a million for helping us out. Hope y'all can do it again when you play Man Utd next time.lady_killadidnt do it for you stinking gunners, id rather manu beat you tothe title race if we dont win it ourselfs. just concentrate on your own game, i can see you guys having a bad month and getting kicked out of fa cup, CL and drawing a few games in league cos of injuries.chelsea21Gunners fan?Homey_MillsJust a little bit.Uy9-BLUEhaha, don't come here from another team looking for any love buddy. we're chelsea, and we don't give two sh**s about any other clubs, cause we're the best.RJMOh, "we". I didn't realize you were on the squad bitch.JackI'm sorry?Jonathan MossI want a David Luiz shirt for Christmas.63soulLuiz deserves the MOTM designation, not only for the goal, but for demonstrating his potential to be of the best backs in the EPL overall. Fierce defending is an understatement---what a performance all the way around. That being said, I was especially happy about the team effort today. Ramires was on fire both offensively and defensively.orthodoxyordeathI saw the score during school, 1-0 at halftime, and I thought "crud. we're gonna have to dig out of that." I knew Luiz would be important, didn't think he'd be THAT important. I'm so happy to see them playing well again. I agree with what you said, it was nearly breathtaking. This win will really help our confidence, and hopefully hurt ManU's. The beautiful Chelsea of old is back.
