Battle at the Bridge?

By: Aidan | September 22nd, 2010

manutd-carling-cupNewcastle head down to Chelsea on Wednesday for a Carling Cup match, but quite who will be playing for either team is hard to say. Chelsea, being in the luxurious position of owning and hoarding several squads worth of talent will no doubt play their B or C team and still expect to win easily.

Newcastle will most likely rest many of the regular starters too, so it all makes it a rather unpredictable evening.

Many of those who were unusued subs on saturday, such as Sol Campbell, Shola Ameobi, Lovenkrands and various others will probably hope to be included, as well as some of the younger fringe players.

Will they have a chance of going through? I guess it depends on what kind of team Chelsea put out, but there’s no reason for the younger/fringe players we put out to go in with any fear – just see what happens.
