Sunderland - Arsenal Preview

">digg: reddit: stumbleupon:DanSAFC"lob some long balls up and hope for a defensive/goalkeeping miscue or to win some free kicks deep in our half and try to take advantage of those"

Why do arsenal fans put Sunderland in the same boat as Bolton? We like to play our footy along the ground as well these days. Henderson and Malbranque are skillful players, and "Elmo" is fitting in very well. Plus Riveros will probably play, so dont expect long balls and hoof up the pitch play.

Yes we will close you down, and not give you any breathing space, but we wont be out to break your legs either.Andre in Chi"Koscielny and Squillaci have paired well together and have yet to allow a goal in 180 minutes together. "

Sure, except for that one against Bolton.Homey_MillsWhere did you read that rumor?ChrisSomething came out in the Danish press saying that the groin injury is long-term and career threatening. Bendtner has immediately replied saying it's a load of mischiveous bollocks, and that his recovery is going fine and is on track. So, it most probably is a load of crap, although it seems Arsenal haven't been that forthcoming on actually giving a date for his return. AW has only said something along the lines of "a few weeks away". But then we don't want them players back either, so damned if you do, damned if you don't.ChrisSorry, for that read "But then we don't want them rushing players back either, so damned if you do, damned if you don't." ... changes the meaning totally !Charlesany one worried about this rumor about Bendtner's groin-injury being career-ending? I mean, I'm sure it's not that dramatic, but I do fear he will have some long-standing injury proneness, like Rocisky, where he'll only play 3-5 months of the year.J___VHope that's a wind up. I really rate bendtner & think he could easily become one of the most feared frontmen in world football. He's quick & with the same stature as drogba but is still very young for that type of player. Drogba was nowhere near his level at that age either.Homey_MillsEven though Wilshere has played well lately, I'd still rather see Nasri ahead of him right now. Nasri was maybe our best player in preseason. And like you said, Martin, Wilshere can still be a key player in the Carling Cup too.J___VAgreed, nasri in the middle. He's actually deceptively strong defensively & in the absence of diaby I think he's the best option in this match. Rosicky must start after not featuring midweek although I feel a bit sorry for him if he's forced out wide since his performances in the middle have been first rate. I just hope we play with high tempo & not ease off because this could be more comfortable than people imagine. It just depends on our approach.Gigi_manso TV5 isnt ready yet?
Key to Sunderland is be firm and focused, especially the latter. And especially in the back imoblog comments powered by Disqus
