Coupe de France: Angers 1 PSG 3

Paris Saint-Germain will meet Lille in the Coupe de France final after they were 3-1 winners at Angers in Wednesday’s second semi-final.

Lille had already booked their progression to the showpiece after a 2-0 away win at Nice on Tuesday and PSG also won away from home with their victory at Ligue 2 outfit Angers not coming without a scare.

Antoine Kombouare’s side were expected to coast through the match but were given a stern test by a fired-up home side in the early stages.

Mathieu Bodmer’s 22nd minute opener gave the visitors some breathing space before Brazilian midfielder Nene continued his superb season with his 19th goal in all competitions just after half-time.

Angers responded though, with Sebastien Renouard hitting the back of the net just six minutes after Nene’s strike to delight the home fans and give them a glimmer of hope.

But just as Angers were mounting a charge for a second goal to level the match, French striker Guillaume Hoarau scored for the first time in over a month to put the result beyond doubt.

The final at the Stade de France on May 14 will mark the first time Lille have appeared in the Cup decider since 1955, despite the fact they have lifted the trophy on five occasions.

PSG on the other hand have been one of the most successful teams in the Coupe de France in recten year, with five final appearances and three wins in the last seven years.
