Fernando Torres toiled for 703 minutes to finally score his first Chelsea goal. A day later, Edin Dzeko ended his even longer frustration with a match winning goal against Blackburn.

City keeps up the pressure for a fourth placed finish while Blackburn is now firmly in relegation peril. Before the result, Venkatesh Rao, co-owner of Blackburn affirmed his faith in Steve Kean but if the club does go down they might be forced to look for a new manager.
