Ke$ha Defends Britney Spears Over New Album

US artist Ke$ha has hit back at critics of Britney Spears, after the US singer was reported to have not written any songs on her latest album, Femme Fatale.

The Tik Tok singer, who wrote Till The World Ends, said Spears was an ‘icon’ and that she does not need to write her own songs.

‘I think people should be themselves and be their own artist, whatever that means for her,’ Ke$ha told MTV.

‘She’s an amazing singer, an amazing performer and she’s an icon. I don’t think that means she has to write.’

Ke$ha tickets are now on sale for the singer’s 2011 UK tour dates.

It has been confirmed that Lady GaGa has helped to write two songs on the new Jennifer Lopez album, with producer RedOne.

The Welsh group will perform UK shows throughout April and May, including a Saturday night gig at HMV Forum in London.

JLS are currently in Copenhagen, where they’re working on the follow-up to their 2010 album ‘Outta This World,’ and some of the band have turned to Twitter to let their fans know how the recording is going.

The Strokes Confirm New Album Name

The Strokes have confirmed that the name of their latest album will be Angles, and have also revealed the name of the first single release from their fourth studio album. Undercover Of Darkness will be the lead single, whilst other tracks include Taken For A Fool, Life Is Simple, Machu Picchu, Radio Minor Madness and Call Me Back.

The Strokes tickets will soon be available for an expected World tour. The band have already announced live appearances at European summer festivals including Spain’s Benicassim Festival in July, and are soon to confirm full tour plans, which is likely to include a number of UK venues.

Foo Fighters Confirm New Album Is Finished

Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl has confirmed that the band have finished work on their latest album, whilst also telling fans to expect big things from the record.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1, Grohl stated,

No Doubt have confirmed that the band have started recording their new album, their first since ‘Rock Steady,’ which was released back in 2001. Guitarist Tom Dumon revealed that 10 songs have been written and that the album will be completed this year.

The band also recently confirmed plans of a huge World Tour, to take place in support of the release of the new record.

The No Doubt World Tour is set to include arena shows here in the UK, with performances at venues such as London’s O2 Arena, Manchester MEN Arena and Birmingham LG Arena expected to be announced soon. No Doubt tickets will go on sale as soon as dates are confirmed.
