Danil Alves: It would cost Barca dearly to replace me

Barcelona full-back Dani Alves reveals that he wants to feel valued at Camp Nou before he signs a new deal.

The Brazilian is not entirely satisfied with the club’s efforts regarding his contract extension.

“I don’t feel the club have bent over backwards to renew my contract – it’s a feeling I have,” Alves told Sport.

“I just want an agreement to be reached now, or within a few days. I don’t like the fact there have been so many rumours – I’m as committed to this project as anyone in the squad.

“I won’t be a hypocrite – if the club want to replace me it could cost them dear. What Dani wants is for the club to value him depending on his importance and influence within the squad. If they do that, I’ll be delighted and if not, thanks for these years.”

Nevertheless, Alves says he is fully committed to team’s cause.

“I will break my back for this team, even if I don’t renew,” he said. “It’s a dream to form part of this dressing room and whatever is said, written or protested, my name is already written in the history of this club.”

Bari replace Ventura with Mutti

Bottom side Bari has appointed veteran coach Bortolo Mutti to succeed Giampiero Ventura in a last-ditch bid to avoid relegation from Serie A.

The southern Italian club, who played some exciting football on their return to the top flight last term, have found their second campaign much tougher and have been hampered by injuries.

Pundits had praised Bari for sticking by Ventura, 63, despite being rock bottom of the table but six defeats in a row led to his exit.

“Bortolo Mutti is the new coach of Bari and he has signed until the end of the season,” a club statement said.

The 56-year-old starts at home to Genoa on Sunday with Bari nine points adrift of the safety zone with 14 games left.

Guardiola to replace Ancelotti next season?

By: Jack | October 28th, 2010

King Carlo making way for this guy? Hell ******* no.

pep

Spanish daily AS has fashioned a report of the utmost audaciousness this morning. Just ridiculous.

They reckon Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is downright infatuated with the chic stylings of one Pep Guardiola. I mean, yeah, his suits are stellar but come on now.

Romes apparently is already sick of the Itailan job, and has quickly turned his beading eyes toward the Barcelona manager. Guardiola has refused to sign an extension to his current contract at the Catalan club, which comes to an end on 30 June, making him one of the world’s hottest coaching commodities. Of course, this Pep to Guardiola gar-bage surfaces only a few days after Pep was tabbed as the successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Supposedly former Chelsea boy Albert Ferrer, also a former teammate of Guardiola, has been lined up as Pep’s No. 2 at Chelsea. Makes sense, especially considering Ferrer just this week took over the fledgling outfit at Vitesse. Yeah.

Then there’s Txiki Begiristain. What would be a Chelsea-Barcelona link without a mention of this cat. Barca’s former director of football has been linked with a position at Chelsea for months, is mentioned in the article. It seems he will be our new technical secretary. Fan-*******-tastic.

So, to recap:
• Romes is sick of Carlo. Nonsense.
• Pep is THE guy. Nonsense.
• AS is a reliable source. Nonsense.

Sounds about right. Now, watch this **** become one of the great exclusives of 2010. I’m going to throw up.
