The West Brom Blog will be leaving the Offside at the end of September.

By: Ethan Dean-Richards | September 4th, 2010

the-end-3

If you’ve read the headline – and This Blog always likes to think that you have – you’ll already be in shock. But yes, it’s true, The West Brom Blog will be leaving your screens at the end of September. This isn’t happening because The Blog wants to go – oh no, don’t get the wrong idea – it’s happening because that (mercurial) bastard, Ethan Dean-Richards is making It go.

The reasons for the move are more complex and ludicrous than you could ever imagine, but they begin with E, S, P and N.

No, they don’t (they do). Actually, The Blog’s reasons for coming to an end are simple and err…singular come to think of it.Frankly, It has reached the end of Its existentialist crisis – an unhappy end, of course – and lunged into a full on depression. No-one wants to read about a destitute, depressed Blog, glumly predicting the failure of others and claiming that it was great once.

You do? Well that brings us onto today’s second and final point of order (for there will be no football talk this time – oh no, there will not.) Would anyone – you, you, or you? – like to take over here at the end of the month? Obviously The Blog knows some West Brom people, but would it not be an interesting experiment for someone to pick up The Blog and only begin supporting West Brom then and there? Maybe.

You don’t have to be an expert: maybe just know who West Brom are playing next – maybe not. Really all you need to know is how write well – maybe not.

Anyway, whatever it takes to write This Blog, if you fancy a go: check out this and then send an email to wba[at]theoffside[dot]com (if you want to talk to The Blog) or daryl[at]theoffside[dot]com (if you want to talk to someone who know what they’re doing).

To come over the next month: a Best Of, a cheeky link to Ethan’s new site and some other shit that The Blog will think of later – maybe some stuff to do with West Brom.

This is actually very sad news. If The Blog is leaving, to whom can all other blogs compare to reassure themselves that they’re not the worst out there?

*sadface*

Come On it’s not time to QUIT especially not when West Brom Albion is in the Premier League. What message does that send to all West Brom fans, and the West Brom Albion Football Club? I had come to very much enjoy reading this funny blog(minus the insults towards the readers)…and b/c of you and Roberto Di Matteo I was rooting and hoping for West Brom Albion to remain in the Premier League for many more years to come.
Wolves were my last year’s Cinderella team, and I have enjoyed following them since (results, news…).
This year it was West Brom Albion… but now that you have quit…I am no longer sure.
But I guess…it’s better to be in oblivion!*Sigh*

You mercurial bastard you. How dare thee go corporate?

cornercorner Ethan Dean-Richards | September 4th, 2010 at 6:46 pm

The corporate side is only part of the deal, my own website is the long-term bit of genius – it’ll be set up soon and I’ll link to it.

cornercorner Ethan Dean-Richards | September 4th, 2010 at 6:47 pm

Unfortunately, I am. I have no time! ESPN gets more hits, and my own site is ultimate freedom…
