This is the new Bayern Munich home kit 11/12 ( 2011/2012) that was unveiled by the Bavarian giants on April 19, 2011. Adidas have introduced a new red & gold home kit for FC Bayern and also announced the extension of their kit deal with the Bavarian giants till 2020.

The new Bayern kit consists of a shirt that is primarily red in colour. The Adidas stripes on the shoulders are golden in colour, with the Adidas logo and the Bayern club crest also present on the shirt. It is a marked difference in colour from Bayern’s 10/11 home kit that was a red and white striped creation.

T-Mobile are the sponsors of the new Bayern Munich home strip 2011/12. The home shorts in the kit are also red in colour ( see photos below). The new 11/12 red and gold shirt is available to buy from 13th May 2011 onwards.

Bayern Munich Appoint Jupp Heynckes As Manager On Two-Year Deal

Bayern Munich have appointed Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes as their new manager.

The 65-year-old will return for his third spell at the Bundesliga club on July 1 after signing a two-year contract.

He replaces Dutchman Louis van Gaal whose contract will be terminated at the end of the season.

Heynckes first led Bayern between 1987 and 1991, winning two Bundesliga titles, before moving to coach Real Madrid among others.

In 2009 he returned for five games to steer the club into the Champions League after the sacking of Jurgen Klinsmann.

Currently he was won plaudits for turning around the fortunes of Leverkusen, who are in second and on course for the Champions League.

He was always the preferred choice of Bayern’s board but did fight off Fulham manager Mark Hughes for the job.

Heynckes is obviously delighted with his return to the Allianz Arena.

“Aside from the good personal relationships I have with the leading figures at Bayern, the club has always impressed me with its professionalism,” he said.

“I have twice been Bayern coach and always appreciated the working environment.

“It’s natural that you have to have success as Bayern coach, I understand that but I see it as a fascinating task to achieve it with the team over the next two seasons.”

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “Jupp Heynckes was our preferred candidate. We are very happy that we could reach agreement on a two-year contract.

“I’m convinced that with Jupp Heynckes we will have a successful collaboration. ”

Champions League: Bayern Munich 3 Inter Milan 2

Inter Milan stole a Champions League quarter-finals berth with a thrilling 3-2 win at Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The defending European champions played the way champions tend to when up against it, reeling in a 2-1 deficit at the break to secure their trip to the last eight on away goals.

But it was heartbreak for Bayern, who won the first leg at the San Siro 1-0 and seemed to have exacted their revenge for last season’s loss in the Champions League final, only for Goran Pandev to strike a stunning winner in the 88th minute.

With their domestic campaign lost to Borussia Dortmund and the DFB Cup gone, Bayern’s painful exit ensures manager Louis van Gaal will depart on a low note at season’s end.

Inter could not have asked for a better start at the Allianz Arena than the one Samuel Eto’o handed them, the prolific Cameroon striker stealing through Bayern’s napping defence and sliding his shot underneath goalkeeper Thomas Kraft in just the fourth minute.

But the early blow galvanised Bayern, who responded with a flurry of chances that should have given the hosts a comfortable advantage at the break.

Inter custodian Julio Cesar, whose dreadful error gifted Bayern their winner at the San Siro, made another howler when he allowed Arjen Robben’s fierce effort to bounce off his chest and into the path of Mario Gomez.

The dangerous striker ran back with the flighted ball and deftly lobbed it over Cesar’s head, restoring Bayern’s advantage in the 21st minute.

Another Inter error, this time from defender Lucio, handed Bayern their second 10 minutes later.

The Brazilian stopper got an inadvertent touch to Robben’s pass in search of Gomez, knocking the ball free for Thomas Mueller to chip a shot over the onrushing Cesar.

Gomez produced the first threat on goal after the interval with a stinging volley that Cesar acrobatically knocked clear.

The tie was cast wide moments later as Wesley Sneijder drew Inter within a goal of the last eight, skidding a long-range strike into the far corner following Eto’o's assist.

Inter pressed for the crucial away goal, leaving Bayern’s defence scrambling on several occasions as Sneijder and Eto’o went close.

But in the end it was Macedonian striker Pandev who fired the Italian champions into the quarter-finals.

The winning goal owed much to the good work of the omnipresent Eto’o, who stole his way around Holger Badstuber and whipped a pass into space for Pandev to slam the ball into the net.

The goal prompted wild celebrations at the Inter touchline, with boss Leonardo overcome with joy as his resurrection of the Italian giants reaches greater heights.

Bayern Munich prepared for Tuesday’s Champions League second leg with Inter Milan by thrashing Hamburg 6-0 on Saturday.

The Germans had been in crisis since winning 1-0 at the San Siro in the first leg.

All that changed against Hamburg as Bayern halted their plummet down the Bundesliga standings and gave coach Louis Van Gaal, who will leave at the end of the season, some respite.

Dutch midfielder Arjen Robben scored a hat-trick and Franck Ribery had one goal and a major role in another to help Bayern bounce back from three straight defeats in eight days.

“One day we are very bad and everything is a catastrophe,” Robben said.

“Now we are again a super team. Unfortunately, that’s how it is in football.”

“We played a great game and finally saw the real Bayern Munich,” Robben said.

“We reacted to our problems and it’s the best way to prepare for Inter. It was a struggle at first, but once we broke the deadlock, a weight was taken off our shoulders.

“In the locker room we said to each other that the time had come to start playing well again. We did it and we’re happy. I have great faith in this team’s chances of success.”

Ribery also feels it was a turning point in the campaign for the Germans.

“We earned an important victory, both for us and our fans. It was the right way to respond to recent difficulties,” said the France international.

“Six goals, that’s great and it’s also very important for Tuesday’s game. But it’s going to be a very dangerous game.”

Meanwhile, Inter will take their entire squad, including Lucio, to Munich.

Lucio is a major doubt after suffering an upper thigh strain in the 1-1 draw with Brescia.

The defender, a former Bayern man, has been called up with Thiago Motta, Esteban Cambiasso and Cristian Chivu, who are not 100 per cent fit.

Only the injured Diego Milito, Walter Samuel and David Suazo have stayed in Milan.

Maicon is also struggling with a bout of flu.
