Confirmed- Barcelona to sign Ibrahim Afellay from PSV

Nov 16, 2010

Barcelona and PSV agree for 2011 winter transfer of Afellay.

Big transfer news this one- Barcelona are almost certain to sign Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay from PSV Eindhoven in the 2011 January transfer window after the Eredivisie club formally announced an agreement between the two sides for the transfer.

Afellay was out of contract at PSV at the end of the 10/11 season and had been linked with a move to Arsenal amongst other clubs. Barca will reportedly pay PSV around 3 million euros for Afellay’s services.

Afellay has however not agreed personal terms with Barcelona, but it is unlikely that the deal will fall through.

Arsenal gossip- Ibrahim Affelay could sign for free in the summer

Nov 6, 2010

Reports in the press say that Arsenal could get PSV midfielder Ibrahim Affelay for free next summer. Affelay is out of contract with PSV at the end of the 10/11 season and has currently not penned an extension with PSV. As per football rules, clubs could engage him in pre-contract talks in the January window.

Affelay has also attracted attention from Liverpool, Everton and Real Madrid, all of whom believe the Dutchman could be a worthy addition to their ranks next summer.

Affelay has himself said that he is interested in a switch to the Premier League.
