Schalke chasing another Real Madrid player

Schalke boss Felix Magath has shown interest in Real Madrid defender Ezequiel Garay, according to reports from Spain.

The experienced tactician seems to have had a good experience with Real Madrid players, as Raul and Christoph Metzelder moved to Schalke last summer, and he now wants another los Merengues player.

Magath hopes to lure Ezequiel Garay to Veltins Arena in an attempt to patch up his leaky defence, with the Argentine likely to be available in January.

Garay suffered a difficult injury at the start of the season, but is now unlikely to get back to the team since Carvalho, Pepe and Albiol are all in front of him in the pecking order, meaning he will probably be sold in January.

Felix Magath plans to take advantage of the situation and is pondering a bid for the Argentine defender, who should be available at a cut-back price.
