Midfielder Alberto Aquilani is willing to return to Liverpool at the end of the season if Juventus do not want to sign him on a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old is on a season-long loan with Juve, having failed to impress in his first season at Anfield after joining from Roma.
Juventus do have the option to purchase Aquilani at the end of the current campaign, but if they do not exercise it, he is happy to go back to Anfield.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “The future? I’m at Juve, but I don’t know what will happen.
“I’m on loan and if I’m not retained I’d go back to Liverpool in the best league in the world. We’ll see.”

Clearly the Liverpool of today is a vastly different to the one that Alberto Aquilani joined over 18 months ago and as such a move back to Merseyside is clearly an option he will consider. Juventus has benefited from a return to form by the Italian international but the Turin side is not willing to pay the asking price and there is no pressure on the Anfield side to sell for less.
Life under Kenny Dalglish and new owners appears to be going fairly well and whilst clearly Fernando Torres felt the need to leave it seems the rest of the squad is happy to stay at the club as they embark on a new era. The arrivals of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll add quality up front and the likes of Raul Meireles and Lucas have shown big improvements in form.
Aquilani is a quality player and the fact that he was injured when Rafa Benitez first brought him to Liverpool was always going to be play against the former Roma man but now fighting fit the 26 year old midfielder is back in the national team set-up and could well be a useful player to have back at the Premier League club.
