Pep Guardiola has declared Barcelona need four more points to secure the La Liga title as his side prepares to face cross-town rivals Espanyol.
Barcelona lead second-placed Real Madrid by eight points with four matches remaining.
A loss for Real against Sevilla on Saturday could mean Barcelona could claim the title with a win against Espanyol on Sunday, but Guardiola said he was not focusing on other results.
“I think we have four points to make. It doesn’t matter what our rivals do. It is about us,” Guardiola said.
“It won’t change our preparations for the match. Regarding today’s result, we need four points.”
“Tomorrow there is a definite chance to do it. And if it happens, the league is over.”
“We don’t rest at any time at Barcelona, because we haven’t won anything yet.”
“The only team who has won anything so far is Real Madrid, and that was the Copa Del Rey. The rest of us haven’t won anything yet. So, until that changes we will keep on with our preparations.”
Guardiola said they would continue to treat every match as a must-win as they prepare for their Champions League final showdown with Manchester United at the end of the month.
“If we get complacent there is a risk of losing concentration and we face not being ready for the final on May 28,” Guardiola said.
“So we will take it day by day, see how the players are match by match, and that is how we will hope to win.”
