FIFA ban Bosnia for breaking rules

Bosnia-Hercegovina have been suspended from international football for failing to follow FIFA rules.

Bosnia’s football body, the NSBIH, were ordered to cut their three-man presidency team to one, but their board refused to change, forcing FIFA to sanction the nation.

Bosnia, which have produced players such as Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko, are banned from international action, leaving their European Championships qualification in limbo, with the country fourth in Group D.

One of the three in charge of football matters, Bakir Izetbegovic, had pleaded to FIFA and UEFA with the threat of suspension hanging over Bosnia, but his appeal fell on deaf ears.

Bosnia’s next scheduled match is against Romania on June 3, and if the three-pronged presidency is not reduced, the nation may be withdrawn from the competition.
