Luis Garcia is one of several former Liverpool heroes set to return to Anfield for Jamie Carragher’s testimonial on Saturday.
The Spaniard played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s Champions League success in 2005 before leaving Merseyside for Atletico Madrid two years later.
Currently with Greek side Panathinaikos, the 32-year-old is keen to take part against Everton at the weekend on a special day for his former team-mate.
“Luis wants to be involved so hopefully he will be back at Anfield and I’m just waiting for a call,” Carragher told Liverpoolfc.tv.
“It would be great to see him again. He played an important part in our success in 2005 and he never really got the chance to say goodbye because he was injured and then he left the club.
“It would be great for Luis as well to get a welcome back from our crowd.
