Liverpool:

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Johnson
Gerrard Poulsen Meireles
Kuyt Torres Maxi

Bench: Gulacsi, Cole, Pacheco, Aurelio, Ngog, Wilson, Shelvey

Only notable absence is Lucas, who apparently picked up a slight thigh injury in training. Nothing too serious, but enough to keep him out of the squad today. That staves off the questions about how Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles, and Lucas fit in the squad together; today we’ll likely see Christian Poulsen tasked with holding responsibilities while Gerrard and Meireles figure out who’s getting forward when. It’s an exciting prospect, but as I mentioned yesterday, one that’s going to take some settling.

Fulham:

Stockdale
Pantsil Hangeland Hughes Baird
Dempsey Murphy Sidwell Duff
Dembele
Johnson

Bench: Etheridge, Kelly, Salcido, Gera, Greening, Davies, Kamara

In the run-up:

DON’T LOOK AT IT DON’T LOOK AT IT DON’T LOOK AT IT DON’T LOOK AT IT DON’T LOOK AT IT DON’T LOOK AT IT DON’T LOOK AT IT Okay, fine, here’s something about Luis Suarez. I can only be so strong. If nothing else (assuming the quotes are accurate), we know that this will be over by Saturday. Between now and then there’s no telling what FSG will do—both sides certainly seem stubborn enough to let this drift off into the almost-but-not-really abyss of the January transfer window, so I’d imagine there’s going to need to be some flexibility on one side or the other at some point.

And in non-Liverpool but still worth reading news, Richard Keys gave his exclusive to talkSPORT this afternoon, and as you can expect, it was rife was non-apology apologies, blaming of everyone and anyone, and alluding to devious forces that operate in the shadows with the sole purpose of conspiring against those of us daring enough to proclaim that anything with boobs (not moobs, mind) is too stupid to understand a game that’s got precisely six rules. Tough times for Richard and Andy, they’ve been so very wronged.

Also worth noting that when you type in “Keys apology” on the Google, the first link is to a story from October about how MTV f*cked up the award they gave the Black Keys for Best Video, printing “Black Eyed Peas” on the plaque. Not like that award or MTV is actually relevant anymore, but it’s surely enough to make you question whether it’s antiquated concepts of gender roles or the Black Eyed Peas that poses more of a threat to our modern world.

Dark forces indeed.

Good riddance I say let's hope they employ a female presenter to really set an example, preferably one with big tits.EdAlright, I'm off to a doctor's appointment, don't get too rowdy. Back later on with some thoughts when I catch the recording.Tom FooleryTeamsheet kinda released...Gerrard in for Lucas. Hooray! On the back of his best performance in a red shirt, CP retains his place. One of the few times I'd hoped for a player to be dropped after a good performance.
Well then.EdYeah, but I don't think there's too many options other than Shelvey or Spearing with Lucas hurt.Ttofalliboys liverpool win easy today?

lfc4eternityFeeling a tad pessimistic myself I'm afraid...
Adam and Suarez, both mid twenties, both could command a good fee in say 3 years if we sell them, both 'do the business'.
Transfer fees are what they are. I appreciate there's always room for negotiation but in the summer we were equally as strong minded with regards to Torres by stating initially 'only bids over £50million'.
We let Babel go for £6mill without any apparent quibble.
We absolutely, unequivocally need these players now (who else is as good and affordable and available?).
Do we really have TRANSFER funds? or do we just have an apologyfor transfer funds?
Randy Lerner got to grips with it (funding I mean)...why can't we?NoelAjax really loves bargaining through the press. Though I suppose that means that they do really want to sell and are hoping to get somebody else to run in at the last minute and offer what they keep publicly saying is their minimum price. Given how long this has been running and that nobody has come in to offer them what they want--and given that the £12.8M that keeps getting thrown around was by all accounts the offer in a deal including Babel, which means plus £5.8M, or an offer actually worth £18.6M--I'm actually feeling borderline competent that something in the range of £18M cash will be enough to get it done, and that it will indeed get done.

Also, now I feel vaguely disappointed in myself.Ttofalliboys liverpool win easy today?
