Mourinho keen to keep Man Utd target

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is keen to keep French midfielder Lassana Diarra at the club.

The 25-year-old has in recent months been strongly linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United, as a replacement for Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes.

But Diarra has started Real’s last four games in La Liga and has impressed Mourinho, who is now keen to keep the midfielder at the Bernabeu.

“He has played well recently,” said Mourinho. “He was even in the starting XI while usual midfielders were available.

“That proves I want him to go on here.”
