Not much to report from the past 2 days.
Also, news was out yesterday of a massive clearout this summer starting with as many as 6 (old-ish/injury prone) players set to retire/leave. The names being mentioned are keepers VDS and Kuszczak, Brown, Neville, and both the Owens. No surprise there really although I think Brown still has a couple of good years in the tank if he can only stay injury free. Then again, we already have JOS as a willing backup anywhere in our backline, so it may be time to say goodbye to Wes. Maybe his younger brother gets a look in soon?
Hargo isn’t going to be offered a new contract (anyone surprised?) and will hopefully decide once and for all if he’s going to endure more years of false expectations or just call it quits. I’m sure someone will take a punt on him if he agrees to a pay as you play deal.
As usual, Madrid are being linked with Vidic for the 100th time. This time, Chicharito is also included in Mourinho’s transfer list. Considering we just signed Vidic to a long term extension in the offseason AND made him our new captain, we can hope he won’t succumb to temptation and the sweet glances of the Special One. Jose, with the utmost respect, please bugger off.
Lastly, Beckham could sign with Spurs by the end of this weekend and be on the bench (or even the starting 11?) against us the following weekend. That’ll be weird.
Oh yeah, guess I shouldn’t be ordering my new United jersey with Kaka on the back huh?
