Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club will be without star midfielder Cesc Fabregas for the trip to local rivals Chelsea this weekend. Fabregas sustained a hamstring injury against Sunderland a fortnight ago and has already missed the Gunners’ games against Tottenham, West Brom and Partizan Belgrade.
Wenger had rated Fabregas as 50-50 for the clash but has now announced that the Spanish star will have no role to play in the tie at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Apart from Fabregas, Arsenal will also be without keeper Manuel Almunia, meaning that Lukasz Fabianski will start between the sticks.
Left back Kieran Gibbs is also sidelined with a calf injury. Gibbs picked up the injury in Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over Partizan.
