Apparently, there’s a rumor floating around that we’re looking to land Kaka on a loan deal this month. I highly doubt the credibility of said rumor or the likelihood of it ever transpiring. But if it does, I don’t think it would be a bad situation to be in. We have needed creative reinforcements in midfield for awhile now and this would be a good environment for Kaka to get his career back on track after the injuries/dip in form he’s had recently. A loan would also be a safe bet since it would give us the chance to examine the extent of his injury before committing big money to sign him (if indeed the option to buy after the loan is up is included).

In less exciting news, it looks like Macheda could end up on loan at an English club instead of Lazio or another Italian team as was reported earlier. The key for Sir Alex is for the youngster to get as much playing time as possible and with the team’s exit from the Carling Cup, his chances are going to be limited in the 2nd half of the season. Also, playing in England allows the boss and his staff a chance to monitor him a lot closer to home.

Not holding my breath for the Kaka deal to ever materialize, but Macheda will have his suitors and should be in a different kit by month’s end.
