Sampdoria lost 3-1 to Werder Bremen in the first leg at the Weserstadion last week and need to win by atleast two goals in Italy to have any hopes of progressing to the group stages of the Champions League.
However Sampdoria will take heart from the fact that Bremen have traditionally been poor visitors to Italy. Bremen were also crushed 4-1 by TSG Hoffenheim in their Bundesliga opener last weekend.
